Policies
Privacy policy
I provide telephone counseling and coaching to clients in Pennsylvania, Florida, Vermont, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina. Here is how I handle information shared through this website.
Information you share
When you contact me, you may share your name, email, phone number, state, and a brief note. I use this information only to respond to your inquiry and discuss next steps.
Please don't send detailed health history by email. Email is not a fully secure way to share sensitive information. Scheduling takes place through my separate client portal, not a form on this website.
How information is used
I use information to respond to you, schedule a consultation, and provide services. I never sell it or share it for marketing.
Clinical records
If you become a client, your health information is handled under HIPAA and the laws of the state where you receive services. You'll receive a separate Notice of Privacy Practices explaining your rights and the limits of confidentiality.
Website data
This site's hosting provider may record technical data, such as browser type and pages visited, to operate and protect the website. The analytics choice below controls Google Analytics, not essential hosting or security services.
With your permission, I use Google Analytics to measure general website visits. It uses cookies and sends Google technical information such as browser and device details and a pseudonymous identifier. Google also receives your IP address when your browser connects to its service.
My website sends a generic visit label instead of the actual page address, search parameters, or counseling-page title. I do not send inquiry details, health history, client records, or booking events. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google Signals are disabled in the website's tracking instructions.
Google Analytics does not load unless you choose Allow analytics. You can decline without affecting access to my website or services, and reopen Analytics choices in the footer at any time. Withdrawing permission stops further Google Analytics collection and removes its accessible cookies from this site; it does not erase information already sent to Google.
I also use Google Ads conversion measurement to learn whether my ads lead visitors to click Schedule. When you arrive from a Google ad, a Google Ads cookie stores the ad-click identifier, and a Schedule click is reported to Google with that identifier, a generic page label, and technical details such as your IP address. No names, contact details, health information, or page addresses are sent, and ad personalization and remarketing are turned off.
Ad measurement does not run for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland, or Canada, or when your location can't be determined. Choosing Decline analytics also turns off ad measurement. Learn how Google uses this information at business.safety.google/privacy.
Safeguards
I take reasonable steps to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I can’t guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can ask to review, correct, or delete information you've shared through this website by writing to info@drjtomlin.com.
Your analytics choice is saved in this browser. Clearing browser storage or using another browser may require a new choice. The separate scheduling portal has its own privacy practices.
Changes
I may update this policy from time to time. I will post the current version on this page.
